The Lud’s Story
Lud's was established in 1964 as the first and only fast food restaurant in Alpena. Lud’s had been a hometown restaurant for 43 years providing good quality food, at a reasonable price, served fast and friendly.
The founder Miles Ludlow instilled these standards in every meal they served. They served 100% ground beef grilled to perfection, with fresh onions, seasoned just right, and served with only the best garnishes. They baked the hot dog buns and made the sauce from scratch to create the unique taste for the Coney Dogs.
On Sept. 21st, 2007 Lud's served it’s last meal. This marked the end of an era in Alpena. Thank you to all the staff, vendors, and loyal customers over the past 43 years.
